JH Interior Design – Steamboat began with a personal project that turned into a passion.
In 2020, founder Julie Hockney purchased a vacation rental property in Steamboat Springs—part investment, part escape and a welcome creative challenge during the height of the pandemic. While renovating the mountain home, Julie quickly realized two things: first, that Steamboat had a unique design spirit all its own; and second, that there was a real need for thoughtful, high-end interior design in the area. What started as one project soon grew into a full-service design studio serving homeowners, developers and boutique commercial clients throughout the Yampa Valley.

Meet Julie Hockney
Julie Hockney is the founder and lead interior designer at JH Interior Design, a full-service interior design firm based in Omaha, Nebraska. Known for creating elevated yet livable spaces, Julie brings years of experience designing high-end residential homes, commercial interiors, and vacation properties across the Midwest and the Rockies.
Julie splits her time between Omaha and Steamboat, working hands-on with clients and guiding her talented design team. She’s recognized for her ability to listen deeply and craft spaces that feel personal, layered and effortlessly beautiful.
In addition to JH Interior Design, Julie owns Bouquet, a high-end floral studio specializing in weddings and events, and The Studio by JH, a retail showroom offering curated home decor, custom furniture and unique wine. When she’s not designing or mentoring, you’ll likely find her hosting friends, skiing with her family, or reimagining a space in need of fresh energy.
